You must have a library card to check out items or use computers.
One-time computer users, with identification, can get a guest pass.
Children under 12 must be on their parents’ or guardians’ card.
You must show 2 or more forms of identification to get a card:
Oklahoma driver’s license
Current utility bill
A piece of mail addressed to your current address
A check with address printed on it
First time users are limited to 1 item per person in the household. If the items are returned by the due date, 3 books per person. Family accounts have a limit of 15 total items checked out at one time.
Books, magazines, and audio books: 14 days
New fiction books: 7 days
DVDs: 5 days
Library of Things: 4 days
To renew books, bring them into the library or call to renew over the phone. If there is a waiting list for the item, it cannot be renewed.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is available for all patrons. If you want an item that is not currently located in the library, we may be able to get that item from another library. That library mails their item to us and the patron will be required to pay the cost of the mailing fee when they pick up their item.
There is a 7-day grace period before fines start. Fines are 10 cents per day up to a maximum of $2.00 per item (20 days).
You must have a library card to use the computers. One-time computer users can get a guest pass – with proper identification.
Users are limited to one hour of computer use one time per day.
If you have overdue library books or fines, you will not be allowed to use the computer.
Use of public computers is on first-come, first-serve basis.
Use of computer printers is .25 cents per page.
Downloading programs or loading programs from disk or CD ROM is strictly forbidden. Use of the network to access obscene, objectionable or pornographic material is prohibited. For your safety, you should not use your full name or give personal information out over the web. Do not open email from sources you are not familiar with.
Library staff is not responsible for technical difficulties with the computer. The staff will assist as time and abilities allow.
Access to these computers is a privilege, not a right.
Violation of any part of the policy will result in the cancellation of all computer privileges.
Download eBooks and audiobooks to an eReader or mobile device through OK Virtual Library’s Overdrive.
Sign in on the OK Virtual Library’s website with your Library card number and password. Contact us if you need a library card.

Go to okvirtuallibrary.lib.overdrive.com.
Go to sign in (upper right hand corner).
Select Library (Chandler Public Library).
Type in your library card number (Not the “P” just the four numbers).
When you find the book you want click on it.
Place Hold: You’ll get an email you when the book is available. You will have three days to borrow the book. Follow the rest of the instructions to borrow the book.
If the book is available click Borrow.
On right hand side click Download. Then choose Kindle Book. Then, Confirm & Download.
This will take you to Amazon.com. You will have to have an account with them to finish. On the right side click Get Library Book.
You will have access to the book for 7 days or 14 days depending on whether other people are waiting to read it. On the Amazon page it will tell you the due date. After that date the book will no longer be available on your device.
